Ridge School Hosts CBSE South Zone-I Archery Championship 2026 in Resplendent Style.

That ancient radiance returned to Kurnool as Ridge School flung open its gates to the CBSE South Zone-I Archery Championship 2026, from 23 to 25 August, drawing young archers from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry in pursuit of exactitude and renown.
Inaugural Ceremony
Dawn on 23 August broke upon a ceremony of quiet grandeur, graced by Sri T. G. Venkatesh, Former Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, as Chief Guest, and Col. Jobee Philip, Officer Commanding, 9(A) Girls Battalion, Kurnool, as Guest of Honour. The championship was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp, its flame kindled jointly by the dignitaries, while Sri G. Pullaiah, Founder and Correspondent, Ravindra Educational Institutions, presided with customary dignity, joined by Sri G. V. Mohan Kumar, Chairman, and Sri G. Vamsidhar, Vice Chairman. And there, unshaken, stood the institution’s pillars — Gopinath Guduri, CEO, and Sowmya Gopinath, Co-CEO; P. K. Rajendran, Dean; and Rajkamal Mathews, Principal — the quiet builders of Ridge School’s pursuit of excellence.
Sri T. G. Venkatesh invoked archery as an art enshrined in India’s martial inheritance, drawing a luminous parallel with the Mahabharata, and spoke of discipline, concentration, and fortitude — virtues that fashion not merely athletes, but the architecture of character. With over 2,000 student archers from nearly 650 schools, the event stood as testament to its scale and ambition.

The championship drew to its close on 25 August with an elegant valedictory ceremony, medals and certificates conferred amid an air of pride and triumph.
